Assam Inland Water Transport Development Society is committed to modernize the inland water transportation system on the rivers of Assam and improve upon the existing facilities for safe, comfortable and gainful transportation of passengers as well as cargo within the state and thereby provide intra-state, inter-state and international connectivity.

 

  • To provide safe, secure and sustainable passenger and cargo ferry services in Assam
  • To modernize the fleet and terminals on the river systems of Assam in order to bring in par with international standards
  • To facilitate the enactment and regulation of legal framework of the inland waterways sector in Assam
  • To promote riverine tourism and ancillary activities in Assam
